Michael Marques
The early days of my career consisted of producing portraits for magazines. It was often fast paced, though there were always those little 90 second breaks while the Polaroid developed. I enjoyed these environments and how they forced you to think on your feet, though the assignments that allowed me to spend more time working with art directors to craft the narrative were more fulfilling. As I began working with agencies and taking on more commercial projects, I valued the strategy and collaboration (and white boards… I discovered I really like white boards).
With all of the content in the world, I strive to contribute to efforts that compel an audience to care.
When not in the studio, I am fortunate to be the Executive Director of the Connecticut Art Directors Club, which supports education and growth in commercial creative fields. One way we do this is through our podcast, As We Create, where I have conversations with professional creatives about all that happens between concept and execution.
